The police in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, reported that around 11 am local time on March 23, a helicopter crashed into a farmland listed in the prefecture. The two elderly men on board both suffered minor injuries and have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
After receiving an emergency call from a witness to the accident, the police quickly took action. According to the police, the two men on board were 77 and 83 years old respectively, and apart from them, the accident did not affect any other personnel. This privately owned helicopter took off from a helicopter airport in Omotemachi, Gifu Prefecture at around 10:20 am. During the flight, it inexplicably fell from a height of about 2.5 meters and overturned. The police stated that the 77 year old man was a helicopter pilot and was attempting to land at a helicopter airport located approximately 50 kilometers away in the county.
At present, the local police are conducting further investigations into the cause of the accident to determine the specific reason for the helicopter crash.
